Voluntourism in Morocco – Day 3

Day 3

Enjoying the local cuisine is an integral part of a voluntourism adventure, and we like to offer cooking classes for our guests who have the inclination.

Morocco is no exception.

In Marrakech, La Maison Arabe has a superb class where you go out with the chefs into the market to buy the ingredients, and learn to prepare a selection of delicious salads (tomato with cinnamon is my favourite) and a tagine (which rotates through lamb, chicken and fish). And you get to savour your creation for lunch or dinner, depending on which session you participate in!

Another delight of Marrakech in particular is the plethora of orange juice vendors in the Djeema el Fna, who will squeeze your juice in front of you (insist upon this, as they have been known to dilute it or use cordial) – a fantastic vitamin C boost!
